MLL advised PEAT GmbH in the acquisition of Zurich based start-up Salesbee together with its subsidiary in India

Meyerlustenberger Lachenal AG acted as Swiss counsel to German based PEAT GmbH, well known for the agro-tech app Plantix. The MLL team, led by Alexandra Linder (corporate / M&A), consisted of Daniel Schoch (corporate / M&A), Michael Reinle (IT / Data Protection) and Julian Kläser (Tax).

Plantix enables users to identify plant diseases and pests by analyzing images taken with the cell phone camera using artificial intelligence and then providing a diagnosis and suggestions for possible treatment. PEAT is one of the leading AI startups for farmers in emerging countries.

PEAT has acquired the Zurich based startup Salesbee together with its subsidiary in India. Salesbee is a B2B platform for the digitalization of the agricultural market in India, with over 7,000 companies already connected through the platform.

“The transaction will create significant added value for farmers and retailers in India as well as for agricultural companies, as the acquisition will connect all key players on one common digital platform,” said Simone Strey, CEO and founder of PEAT.

Osborne Clarke LLP acted as lead counsel for PEAT. The team was led by Berlin based Maximilian Vocke and Robin Eyben (both corporate / M&A).
