The Loan Market Association (LMA) and Meyerlustenberger Lachenal Ltd. (MLL) are pleased to invite you to this webinar event focusing on the transition from LIBOR to SARON and what this means for corporates and financial institutions. This provides an update from last year’s event. This year’s event will be held online on 10th September 2020.
The financial sector has started reducing its dependence on LIBOR. In various jurisdictions, including Switzerland, the selection of alternative risk-free rates (RFRs) and plans for transition from LIBOR to RFRs before the end of 2021 have been significantly accelerated. In Switzerland, FINMA initiated a self-assessment by banks and securities firms completed in May of this year and expects banks and securities firms to make substantial progress in replacing CHF LIBOR-based cash products with SARON-based cash products by the end of 2020, proactive action towards issuing new products based on alternative reference rates, as well as testing of models, tools and IT systems. During this event, Alfred Ledermann, Chair of the Swiss Loan and Deposit Market Sub-Group, will provide insights into the latest status and developments from the Swiss National Working Group of the transition from LIBOR to SARON followed by a panel discussion giving further insights into steps that can be taken by corporates and financial institutions to increase readiness for the transition.
We are looking forward to seeing you in September!
