The Loan Market Association (LMA) and Meyerlustenberger Lachenal Ltd. (MLL) are pleased to invite you to this follow-up webinar event focusing on the transition from LIBOR to SARON and what this means for corporates and financial institutions. This year’s webinar will go online live on 26th April 2021.
The financial sector has started reducing its dependence on LIBOR and the FCA has now announced the end dates for LIBOR. In various jurisdictions, including Switzerland, the selection of alternative risk-free rates (RFRs) and plans for transition from LIBOR to RFRs before the end of 2021 have been significantly accelerated. In December 2020 the Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) published guidance on the LIBOR transition in Switzerland. In this guidance, FINMA requires all supervised institutions (e.g. banks, securities firms and insurers) to plan and initiate the necessary actions to implement the transition roadmap outlined therein with the goal to be fully prepared and operationally ready for the planned discontinuation of most LIBOR benchmarks by the end of 2021. From 1 July 2021 financial institutions in Switzerland must enter financial arrangements that refer only to ARRs, irrespective of the currency used (i.e. irrespective of whether they refer to Swiss francs, euros, pound sterling, yen or US dollars).
We are looking forward to welcoming you to this LIBOR/SARON webinar!
